Online Counselling via Zoom with Diane Swaine

Online Counselling via Zoom gives everyone the opportunity to talk to me face to face and receive online counselling from the comfort of your own home or work – whatever your location. This service offers complete confidentiality.

For those who are unable to access face-to-face counselling, who maybe have mobility or transport issues, or are perhaps self-isolating, a popular alternative is online counselling via Zoom.

Zoom is a computer program that enables you to connect in real time over the Internet, allowing you access to Online Counselling. For those (like me!) who are not tech wizards, it is not complicated to use. Please see below for details.

The benefit of Zoom counselling is that you are able to physically see me, so this is the nearest thing to face-to-face counselling.  Zoom allows you to attend a counselling session from wherever you are – anywhere in the world.

How to use Zoom Counselling

All you need to access Zoom counselling is a computer, laptop or a device with a webcam. The software itself is free and is easy to use. If your computer or device does not have a webcam or microphone, you will need to purchase these. Don’t worry, however, because they are relatively inexpensive.

Once you’ve booked a Zoom counselling session with me, I will email you the details of your booking with a link to access your session. It really is as simple as that.

At the time of your appointment, just click the link and you’ll be connected to me on a video call.

If you’ve never used Zoom before, when you click the link you may be asked to install a plugin to connect your camera with your web browser. Follow the on-screen instructions and select ‘Run’ to install.

Accessing Zoom

To access your meeting, click on the link contained in your appointment confirmation email.

Depending on your browser, the first time you use Zoom you may be prompted to download the Zoom software. This will only take a moment to complete by following the onscreen instructions.

Once downloaded, you will be able to join your meeting. If I have not yet entered the meeting, a waiting screen will appear as follows:

Your video screen will automatically load once Diane has also joined the meeting.
